Welcome to Newquay Trenance Bowling Club

Newquay Trenance Bowling Club is situated on Edgcumbe Avenue in the popular Trenance park region of Newquay adjacent to the Heron Tennis Centre, a children’s playing area with Miniature Railway and Newquay Zoo.

We celebrated our Centenary Year in 2016 in the present pavilion that was built in 1931. On 17th July 1916 Sir Robert Edgcumbe, with 6 male colleagues, agreed to form Newquay Bowling Club and a small pavilion wasbuilt on the same site with a membership of 33 men. We now have six grass rinks, tended throughout the year by the green keeper and other volunteers from members of the club that is run on a voluntary basis utilizing the many skills of the members.

We welcome visiting, touring teams and new members to the club and enjoy a good social aspect with a well stocked bar ready for such occasions. The car park is situated to the rear of the clubhouse accessible by a lane to the side. The club has recently added a new changing room facility in the grounds, in close proximity to the green that is accessed by steps or a ramp for the disabled. There is also a disabled toilet on the car park level. Unfortunately the clubhouse itself is only accessed by steps and is unsuitable for wheel chairs.

In Summer Newquay comes alive with activity for the young and older generation alike and from the middle of April our well tended 6 rink green, at Newquay Trenance Bowls Club, is set for a season of great bowling and fun as we welcome back our regular bowlers and new bowlers to the club and start a hectic schedule of bowling competitions. We hold two official roll ups from 10.00 until 12.00 Wednesday & Friday and members can also opt to bowl in Ladies’, Men’s and Mixed Club Competitions, played throughout the summer. Members or visitors are able to book rinks when
